St. Louise is more than a parish church – it’s a community. We gather for Mass and to celebrate the sacraments, but we also gather to interact with each other socially, to enjoy each other’s company, and to build and strengthen our relationships with one another. Opportunities are abounded for social gatherings, for outreach to various groups, and to just have fun together. Check this page – and our weekly bulletin – to see which community life events most interest you.

We are a band of brothers, a network of men dedicated to doing good in the service of God and our neighbor. Reading the Bible is such an important part of our growth in the Christian life. Reading it in a prayerful manner with a discussion for understanding is transforming. If we want this growth and change to happen, we must practice some particular skills, ways of reading and listening. We need to be able to listen for the voice of God. Through quiet listening we become aware of the presence of God in the Scriptures.
Our Women's Bible Study will be meeting weekly beginning January 7th, on Tuesdays from 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM every other week from January to May using the Walking with Purpose Bible Series, Passionate Discipleship, a Study of 2 Timothy. Register in the Parish Center by Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Book fee is $35 (however if fee is a prohibitive factor, please contact us for alternative arrangements).Through this six-lesson Bible study, we will be diving deep into understanding who Jesus is and what that means for us. We will be learning how to abide in the wisdom of Christ to navigate the ever-increasing demands and messages of our culture. We will learn what it means to live in the freedom of Christ and how to continually set our minds on Him.

Parishioners gather together to portray the Way of the Cross, helping the faithful to participate in the passion of Jesus. Few words are spoken by the actors as people listen to the speaker tell of the events that happened during each Station and meditate on the prayers being read. The live action of the actors helps the faithful visualize what happened in a way different way from viewing the traditional Stations of the Cross. Prayerful meditation of each station may bring a person into a deeper understanding of Christ’s passion. Opening our hearts to Christ’s suffering during his passion and death helps us to celebrate Christ’s Resurrection on Easter with renewed hope and a better relationship with Jesus.
Volunteer opportunities include being part of the cast, the lighting crew, helping with the costumes (possibly some sewing) or advertising. Practice takes place a few weeks prior to Palm Sunday. The stations are portrayed on Palm Sunday and Good Friday.
For more information or to volunteer, please contact our Confirmation and Youth Ministry Coordinator Ivonne Melendrez at 626-332-5822, extension 405.
